Taking into account that mastering a skill warrants repetition, student members are enouraged to practise. Additional information about each of the following methodologies and topics will be posted in the future.

  • Solution preparation and handling (Molarity, pH, safety, serial dilutions, etc)
  • Nucleic acid isolation (Ethanol precipitation & overview of current methods)
  • Animal colony management (Xenopus l. & Drosophila m. )
  • Aseptic techniques and micro-organism culturing
  • Bactrerial transformation with the pGLO plasmid
  • Gel electrophoresis (Agarose & PAGE) [2 sessions]
  • Chromatography (Gel filtration and reverse phase)
  • Data management & analysis (Software & statistical methods)
  • Overview of the scientific method (Research approach & documentation)
